Webinar: Clarifying the Development and Implementation of Molecular Tests in a Clinical Laboratory
Time & Date: 11:00 AM | September 9, 2022 (GMT+8, Singapore and Taipei Time Zone)
In Vitro Diagnostics (IVDs) tests and Laboratory Developed Tests (LDTs) could be used for patient testing in clinical laboratories. IVD tests are regulated by the local authorities and validated by manufacturers prior to approval for marketing. An LDT is a diagnostic test for clinical use that is designed, manufactured, and performed by an individual laboratory. In this webinar, we aim to dispel common misconceptions of laboratory-developed tests by providing a comprehensive overview of what it takes for a clinical laboratory to bring an in-house molecular test to market.
Key learning objectives
• Identify differences between laboratory developed tests and IVD tests
• Describe different types of laboratory developed tests
• List the benefits of running a laboratory developed test
