ABSTRACT
For infectious disease pathogen detection and research, real-time PCR enables reliable, sensitive, specific, and scalable results over slower culture-based methods. As SARS-CoV-2 testing declines, laboratories have the infrastructure, capacity, and skilled labor to expand their menus for other testing areas including respiratory, urinary, vaginal and STI and gastrointestinal infections.
